A slime biomass is any collection of bacteria that forms a slime mat, like cyano. I get a slime growing in my freshwater filter outlet from the lights, I don't know specifically which algae or bacteria it is, so I use the generic slime biomass. I've had protein film on my tank that my overflow skims off and it doesn't look like that when it builds up, which is why I'm wondering if it is just protein or if what's happening is the protein film gets on the overflow and ambient tank light starts growing slime on the overflow eating the protein.. :tongue_out: Just thinking aloud in any event, I do that from time to time. ;)
