| | | 05-03-2012, 10:07 AM Reef Angel Controller This thing is pretty sweet! I used to have a Neptune AC JR. which was nice, but this thing is just as good or better IMO! The coding can be a bit overwhelming at 1st especially if you have no clue about how to do it like myself, but they have a forum to help with that and you can really do anything you want to with this controller! I bought this controller to control my new LED lights, sure I could have bought a module for the AC Jr for about $100, but I decided to give this a try for about $300 (with the PWM module to control the LEDs) and put the AC jr on my wifes 12g nano and boy am I glad I did. I have had some small issues (like recieved a bad connection code), but within 2 days of figuring out the problem I had a new cord at my door! We thought the original PWM module was bad so they sent me a new one of those and I had it within 2 days as well, but we quickly figured out that it wasnt the module it was the USB cord, so their customer service is very quick and prompt! There is a forum (the owner and other users all contribute) to help with coding or any other issues you may have and they are pretty friendly and helpful! Some of the things this unit can do: ATO (single or dual float) 2 wavemaker ports to control powerheads (like koralia evolutions) control heaters/chillers/fans control lighting (MH, w/ restart protection, as well as "standard lighting" like t5's pc's etc.) ph probe to monitor/ control ph/ calcium reactors temp probe (1 standard but can expand to 3 temp probes) and basically anything else you could possibly want to control can be done through this unit (some things may require additional modules). But there are 2 PWM ports on the display unit so you could control a few LEDs w/o the module! All in all I would recommend this controller to others and think it was money well spent! |
