MCES is has a legendary reputation for its raffle and this year will not disappoint. The raffle drawing will be at 3:30.

- Reduced Heat Transfer Yields More Viable Frags: Heat is the enemy when cutting corals; it destroys tissue and seriously affects viability, especially with sensitive species like chalice corals. Austin Lefevre has been in the marine aquarium industry since 2002. He started at a local fish store in Ann Arbor, then moved onto a business propagating coral and breeding fish for two years back in 2006. He currently runs a company that installs and maintains upscale aquariums and works closely with a local aquaculture facility. He's been an avid SCUBA diver since the age of 12 and consistently seeks new aquatic adventures.
Austin's talk is entitled "Ditching the Dump and Hope Approach". He'll be discussing sourcing fish, quarantine and conditioning practices, and social acclimation.
Just to clarify, the speaker session is included with the $10 MCES admission for the first 100 people (till the room is full...or 10:30am whichever comes first). After 10:30am, we will not allow others to enter the speaker room so that it doesn't distract other guests from enjoying the presentation.
