Our Reef Stew workshop will be on Sunday, January 20 from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at Preuss Pets.
This is our annual meeting to make our MMMC Reef Stew. Unlike previous years however, the club will not be selling our batch at the swap. Another change is this year is the club will be providing the ingredients, in addition to ingredients being donated by Preuss Pets. Each MMMC member will get to take home a bag of Reef Stew for their tank.
Anyone is welcome to attend that is interested in becoming a member of the club. Membership dues are $12 for a year.
Another major topic we will be discussing as we work on the stew is the swap the following weekend (1/27). We need helpers to make sure the event runs smoothly. While we are making our reef stew we will be addressing areas of need and asking that members sign up for specific jobs.
The Reef Stew meeting will last from 2:30 to 4:00pm. For anyone that is interested Preuss is holding one of their reefkeeping classes after our meeting. The class is their Reef 101: So you want to start a reef tank? While it may be a little late for some of you...since you already have a tank. It is a very interesting talk and I'll bet you learn a thing or two from Rick Preuss who is teaching it. The class runs from 4:00-5:00.
What is the reason why the club is not selling the reef stew?Always bought some every year.
The past couple years it didn't seem to sell as well, plus it became a bit of hassle to deal with in addition to everything else the club is doing on swap day. You should come up for the meeting at Preuss and make some with us.
