    Smile Pre-Swap Cocktails

Some Weasel Took The Cork Out Of My Lunch...W. C. Fields
Prior to swaps, Cindi and I find someplace local for a bite to eat and libations. We're doing the same for the Lansing swap this year. Anyone interested in getting together prior to the doors opening?

Also - Looking for the "haunt" - Got a favorite Lansing watering hole (that's open early on Sundays)?

Post if you're interested with a head count, and/or your favorite establishment. We'll see if we can come up with a consensus and make it happen

I would be into that. Don't know the area well, so I'm up for options in terms of location.

Try East Lansing for the bar...more than a few college bars with lots of character and good food. I always liked Crunchy's or Harrison's Road House for good pub food.

Good call. It would be nice to find something right around the corner so to speak. Hopefully someone who knows the area will chime in.

Right around the corner from the swap, there aint much. Airport Tavern is right next to the swap. They open at noon with a full menu. Piazzano's is right down Grand River Ave from the swap. They open at 9:00 with breakfast till 1:00; haven't gotten their new liquor license yet, so no libations till twelve bells. Harrison Roadhouse opens at 11:00 with full menu, booze when they open. It's not too hard to get from the Roadhouse to Grand River and then just stay on that till you hit the swap. Few more turns, but not horrible. I'd go with the Roadhouse or Beggar's Banquet in East Lansing on Abbott for the best eggs benedict you've had in years.

The biggest issue is the swap starts at noon and being Sunday, it's tough to get drink before noon. With that said, Captive Reefs is picking up the cost of the bartender so beverages will be available right at the hall.

Also the Eagles hall has a restraunt and makes an excellent breakfast.

The Eagles Hall would be a fine place to eat and how much more convenient could it possibly be! I just called Beggar's Banquet in East Lansing. They open at 10:00, with libations for thine infirmities and thine stomach's sake. If you want to check out a cool restaurant cause you are coming into town and why not, you won't be disappointed there. You can start the day off right and make it to the swap by noon for the opening bell.

El Azteco Westside is not far away from the Swap. If you like Mexican food, it's worth the visit. Way more convenient than East Lansing.

Keep these suggestions coming, I will have my whole family with me and we would love to find a place with good breakfast food.
