Alk swings tend to nick the tips more so than the whole coral, it might not even be alk swings, thats just the most common cause. Again, turaki, echinata, suharsoni, etc. tend to be pretty picky. Have you had any ugly temp excursions?

It might just be your angel also, hard to say. If your going to do some of the trickier sps you will just have to get a high end alk kit, I like Lamotte because you can buy refill kits for about 13bucks vs buying an entirely new $35 dollar Salifert kit, though both work just fine.

I know next to nothing about Acros~wasn't aware that the Turaki was one of the more pickier types~lol~can you mention a few lesser pickier ones? As far as temp goes nothing above 80 nor blow 78

Ok Jamie I just read the whole thing and I am wondering if there is anything to worry about.... You said the tips or a few tips looked white... And the thing still has polyp extension, and is growing??? Could you post a picture of the whole little coral you are worried about? It sounds to me like growth... All the tops of mu growing sps are white... And nothing is nipping or wrong with my chemistry. Just another thought to consider...
