That would mean that it is likely to kill any sps less aggressive than it'self if it's close enough to sting. For instance "red planet" is considered reasonably aggressive for an sps. So pretty much any monti and most acros will get stung and lose a war with "red planet". Now "purple monster" on the other hand is a sissy and, in my tank at least, is losing to orange digi montipora.
Also keep in mind that aggressive for an sps is probably going to get smoked by most if not all lps. And pretty much all types of nems.
Thanks rmalone. I didn't even know sps could sting I was thinking along the lines of growth aggressiveness. Glad I asked
Miz, all corals are members of the phylum Cnidaria - which basically means they have cnidocytes, or stinger cells. Just like their cousins - jellyfish and anemones. Some are more toxic than others. I think, in general, the agressiveness is a measure of both that toxicity and the physical reach that a coral may have.
look out, those semi-agressive ones may grab your hand when you go to frag them.. they act all nice but as soon as you're not expecting it you get bit! that's the "semi" part
