Default What do you feed your sps?

I've never specifically fed anything to my sps coral. I'm curious what other people are feeding their tank and if it has effected sps growth and coloration.

I'm asking because I picked up something called Reef Nutrition - Oyster-Feast and am hesitant to add it because everything seems to be going great with my tank at the moment.

    Fish poo...

IMO if everything is going great in your tank let it be. Although reef Nutrition Oyster feast is a good fod it will feed some of your animals, and then further raise nutrients (for not a huge benefit).

+1 on what stunreefer mentioned. You dont have to feed them, they should be able to derive food from the water column which has fish waste in it.

I realize you don't have to feed them, I've never fed them in the past.

I was looking for people that feed their SPS. I wanted to know what they feed and if they noticed any improvement in coloration and growth.

Apparently no one here feeds anything beside fish poo.

I used to feed home grown rotifers but found that was rediculous to keep up on. If I were raising clownfish it would be different (keeping the culture going). I have used golden pearls and a puree of clams and shrimp in the past. I am currently feeding a lot of artic pods and these are the right size for a lot of my acropora to catch.

Artic Pods, Oyster feast, cyclopeeze, homemade swirl, and fish poo. While yes you don;t need to feed; however most are shocked at the growth I get. Skimming heavy has kept water clean for me. I also feed my fish 4~5 times aday.

Holy moly, speed. How do you have time to feed that much? Do you have an auto feeder?

There is a recipe available called Pappone that is a coral food that you make. This recipe involves carbon dosing too though. I suppose you could omit the sugar and keep the glutamine though.
