    Default fragging a Fungia

    the Favia coral was fragged into 4 pieces ...

    BTW ... there does NOT need to be a mouth on the frag !!

    Fixed now as well.

    Great video! A couple of points though to bring up though. The Dremel blade was not working very well, so we ended up running the coral through the tile saw. And, it was a Fungia, not a Favia.

    i have a large one and i'v been wondering how to frag it. anyone know how they procreate in the wild? before and after pics maybe?

    They can produce anthocauli (little daughter colonies) in both captivity and the wild, but I would imagine the majority of them are produced via sexual reproduction on the reefs.

    sorry man, i dont have before and after pics. there was just to much going on that day to possibly keep up with everything. we were kind of rushed due to 1: amount of corals to be fragged (i think it was about 8 or 10), 2: Eric Borneman's flight departure, ECT.

    before it just looked like a fungia (round w/ no polyp or feed tentacle response {it was in a bag for quite a while}), and after being fragged it looked like 4 pieces of a pie. i was surprised at how easy this coral looked to frag.
