Default Glove Coral (Clavularia sp. ??)

Here is shot of a frag we managed to salvage from a dying colony, after just a couple months these guys started from just scraps, a few more single polyps have appeared in the tank and look pretty hardy, maybe we'll get lucky....

Anyone got a better species ID?

Are they pink? I'd agree with Repto. I have woods polyps that are light brown. They look like mine, except the color. I like pink better.

They look very similar to my xenia. Are they related?

Xenia is completely soft and doesn't have the ability to "retract" as wood's/glove polyps do(the clavularia have a rigid tube at their bases that they have the ability to retract into). There are actually a few spp of soft corals that are similar that are also commonly reguarded as "xenia"(anthelia, heteroxenia, crespitularia). The hands at the ends of each polyp on the xenia will tend to pulse, grab, or wave.

These guys lean a bit towards the light brown/tan color rather than pink. The m original colony was not labeled at the LFS I rescued them from. Anyhows I like them, and expect to see a full regrowth of the colony.

Now I'm on the lookout for a close cousin, a frag from a Clove :D
