Depending on the spp of ricordia(yuma, florida, etc) and placement within a decent distance so that the rics get the required lighting.
There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying![]()
Rics are pretty easy to take care of make sure they get ample light with moderate flow and I spot feed mine once a week and they grow like weeds. I have florida, yumas they are a great addition to your tank they add a lot of color
#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I house my ric in a 46 gallon bow front with the same wattage set up, I have it about 6 inches from the bottom in direct light and it hasnearly doubled in size over the past 2 months, infact it looks like its getting ready to devide... oh coursewe also feed it mysis shrimp about ever 2-3 days too. Moral of the story its that most corals like Ric's , Zoa's, And Shrooms will adapt to lower lighting so long asyou feed them. The set up you have sounds finejust base your placement on the light requirements your LFS sudjests. hope this helps.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#tigersax7#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Here's how much difference there is between everyone's particular tank and the animals...
Under the PC's our rics survived... that's about it, they were constantly wandering around, once we moved up to the halides we found one of them had made its way towards the top of the tank and seems quite content to stay there, now growing very nicely. About 9" below the water surface under a 400w bulb, seems odd since they are considered to normally be not a VERY high light demanding animal.
Others have great success with far less lighting and at greater depths, they do make nice ground cover.
As mentioned, regular feedings will help a great deal too.
