Why are my Ricordea dying?

I do a lot of diving in the keys. The water temps in the can hit can hit 90 plus in the summer. Always in the mid 80s. Then down to the 70's even 60s in the winter. Can you imaging doing that to your tank? Those little guys are found in shallow water buried in muck. Sometimes getting no light at all. I too wish we could get to a point where collectors could pass on the infomation about the basics of where an animal came from but I know that will never happen.

Not sure what to tell you then. Maybe call Trop, they have a lot of experience collecting and keeping them. I'm 100 percent sure it's not your temps though.

Thanks for the info. I never thought the temp was the issue but I figured I would give it a try b/c nothing else made sense. I was orginaly thinking some sort of infection but who knows. Calling trop is a good idea actualy. Some of these came from their a long time ago.

So what happened to your rics. Did you figure out the problem or did you lose them all?
