Default Interceptor!

Anyone have any Interceptor or know where I can get some?!? I have a 180g (roughly 250g water volume) and a 12g (roughly 8.5 gallons of water volume) that I would like to dose but having a very hard time finding it!

Just go to a vet and explain what you are using it for. Most will sell it to you. Bring something from the Internet explaining in case they have questions. You do know that anyone answering this and selling or giving you some opens them self up to federal prosecution.

Hey Chris, my vet added a pet named "Reef Tank" to my account, I explained what it was used for, used some latin names, like "Acropora Tortusa" and "Tegastes Acroporanus" and when the vet came out he was fascinated by it. I use "Swart Creek Veterinary Hospital" it is just about across the street from me too!

If you can find a vet that has it, you better stockpile it. The company that makes it got shut down for violations and there probably wont be any more produced until next year. Everyone with herding dogs are freaking out as that's the only heartworm meds we can give dogs that have a mutant MDR1 gene (which most do).

Did not know that slapshot, thanks for the info. If it wasn't for the fact they have taken it off the market it wouldn't be a big deal as I have 2 dogs and thats what we used... but it is no longer available

Yeah I knew they took it off the market to bring their facility "up to standards" which is kinda scary, but hey it works! But yeah both vets I've used were out, and its what we have always given to our 2 dogs too because Chloey throws up for 2 days after every heartguard tablet. My vet now offers a shot that lasts 6 months that she was fine with..... but that doesn't give me any interceptor for my tank that way.

My vet has me on file as 'Reef Tank' too. I was in with the animals and she asked if I needed more and I said yep. It's not cheap. I only dose for new inhabitants (currently) so I got the 1/4 tabs for small dogs.

The Key words (for my vet) seemed to be 'Reef', 'worms' and 'bugs'.

How long ago did you get it, because it is off the market. If it was still on the market getting it wouldnt be an issue for me.

Last week, but maybe the 5.75mg size were all she had left, cause she didn't offer me the full size tabs with the split in the middle.

Also, she gave me a different brand for my dog's heartworm protection (heartguard).

Are you able to remove your acros and set up another tank for treatment and quarantine?

I could, but I have heard it is better to do the entire system then try to separate them like that. The thought behind it would be that they move from piece to piece through the water/ rock so you could potentially get rid of any on the corals and then reintroduce them back in. I am doing it more as a precautionary then a "OMG I have red bugs" kinda thing. I know there is a possibility as I have gotten a few corals from some people that I found out had them afterwards, my wrasses may be taking them out or keeping them in check atleast but I want to be sure..... and know I'm sure.

I am trying to turn my tank back around and get it really going good again, I have finally beat the cyano/ algae issues I have been having and just want to cover all my bases to get things back on track and keep them that way
