Another idea would be barnacle blennies. They are fun to watch when you feed the tank.

    +1 to the yellow/green coris wrasse....skip the 6 line.

Dont add, that will fit in a 20 gallon? Hawkfish or blennies...they are perchers. They will perch on your polyps, and irritate them.

I would get a nice mesh screen top, and just keep the wrasse- that is it.

I'm surprised so many are suggesting a corris wrasse in a 20 gallon. Doesn't that seem a little small for a 5" fish?

I like Kev's suggestion of the barnacle blennys! We have so much fun with ours. Not all blennys are perchers... these guys just stick their head out of holes (barnacles) and shoot out super fast when you feed. They have such personality and it's fun to watch them with each other. If you do these, you definitely would want a group. It's not the same with just one...

Here's a video of them (not ours):

Seems the general consensus to go with smaller wrasses of some sort, with a blenny or blennies and perhaps an FGCC. I'll be pulling out the books over the weekend, and doing some reading to see what I can learn. Meanwhile, thanks to all those to made suggestions and keep the suggestions coming.
I collect PEs, and I'm always looking to trade for ones I don't have yet.

I agree, you can always move it once it grows too large but if you start with one individual about 3/4"-1" you will have a great friend of the zoa dominated tank for quite some time

My Corris wrasse went from 1.5" to 4" in a matter of 6 months. They grow pretty fast.... I disagree with putting a fish that large in such a small tank... even temporarily. They are good pest eaters, but they also like to swim. Even when small.

I wouldn't stick a 1" hippo tang in a nano... even temporarily. Even if I had an algae outbreak so the tang would seem a "must have." But there are others that will so I will have to agree to disagree.
