    Default Zoa's and plugs

I'm wondering how long can a zoa remain on it's plug before it needs to be removed and placed on LR?~I have 6 frags in all~at the moment they're sitting on the sand bed

what are frag plugs made of~I've notice that where ever there's algae on my LR~there once was or still is a frag plug there~there's also algae and some diatom growth on the plugs that are still in the sand bed~also at one time I added a small layer of new sand to my tank as I had sucked a lot up during my cleaning~could this be the cause of my algae?

Well let's start with the fact that frags can stay on plugs forever with no harm.

The material used varies from plug maker to plug maker, the algae where you remove plus is most likely due to the fact that the plug hides light and collects tank debris, so when you move the plug it allows more light to help algae grow in that area, algae around your plugs is most likely due to waste build up under and around them, and yes diatoms can re-appear after adding sand.

    That help?
