Default Testing a different zoa dip-

I've got some cyno growing on a few frags, and need to get rid of it. I siphon it off, nd it just comes back...Its choking out my polyps.

I have, in the past, treated sucesfully the whole tank w/ maracyn (erethromyacin). Dont think I can do that any longer though, with running a bacteria driven system- so I came up w/ the idea to use it as a dip for my 2 troubled zoa frags.

I will be diping later today, and will share the results.

So far so good- dip went well. Frags are clean of nastiness. They were covered w/ strands over 2 inches blowing in the flow....

Polyps are open and look happy, so I think they dont mind the dip. Will see if the slime comes back soon! Fingers crossed....

Was the cyno only going on the Frags?

^ yup- only on the frags...weird, huh? Think the pro-biotics aproach to my system has somthing to do with it, along with the size of my tank I am driving bacteria on.

    Update-

Frags look clear...with the exception of a few bubbles attatched....gonna take a look tomorow, but have a feeling I willll have to dip again. Possible a few days of dips consecutive- just like erethromyacin should be used to kill bacterias.

Was really hoping just one dip would do it, but figured it wouldnt. Will see what happens tomorow, with no action taken today.

Alright...I am starting to think I am dealing with dynoflagelets, and not cyno...thx for the heads up schminksbro.

The stuff is very slowly growing back- but not fast. The area the frag was in on my frag rack is growing the stuff like mad though! Seems like the maracyn dip at least slowed it down!

I will update the post w/ pics of this crap soon.

Patrick, can you post up some specifics as to how you set up the dip? Thanks Randy
I collect PEs, and I'm always looking to trade for ones I don't have yet.
