Great find. A good Zoanthid id resource is http://www.zoaid.com/index.php?modul...2&g2_itemId=15. I recently went through the same id and eagle eyes and watermelons are pretty similar.
After using aptasiaX, is the aptasia left there to decay or will an aptasia eater like the peppermint shrimp eat it.

If you can, tackle the aiptasia out of the tank scrape it off if you can get at it. Then just rinse in some tank water ( that you are throwing out). Just make sure to get it all. Dental pics work great because you can deep in the crevices that they like to retract into.

It took me awhile to even see the rings on my whammin's. I was sure that my rock (3 types on it)should have included some but didnt see the detail for a month or so. The lighting must not have been condusive where they came from.

WW in mass are very nice looking, one of my favorites, well done.

got it this morning. They guy met me at the shop even though they where closed today. I'm pretty sure the zoo's in question are blue steeles, they have green skirts and the green circle. THey are scattered throughout the colony in ones and twos here and there. The orange ones are not bam bams, they are like some other orange ones I have that I have no clue what they are. Going to get ready to try to kill the 2 giant aptaisias and get this sucker in the tank!!! I think there are more than 300 polyps. Gonna try to get a rough guestimate soon.
-
well I can't count that many but the piece is about 11"x12" and I roughly counted 300 and wasn't even half of the way done, I would guess 600 at least!! They are definatly blue steeles also. Not sure on the others. There are several aptasia on it so that is going to have to be my first priority tomorrow after work. Put some paste on the big ones but once I got it in I see 7 or 8 small ones. Any suggestions on how to knock these guys out before they get out of hand and spread. Kinda paranoid to put it in my tank, but have no choice now I guess.

I do not understand why LFS's do not try and take care of aptasia........ speaks volumes about the care they have for their products...........

yeah, it does suck, but couldn't pass up on this piece. Polyps are starting to open already too. this thing is a MONSTER. Now I just hope it doesn't infest my tank with aptasia

Here are some pictures after a day in the tank. The kalk treatment of some of the bigger aptasia has either killed some zoo's or stressed them so they won't open. Not real confident on how to proceed with killing the real small ones.
All lights on
