Default why are my zoas red?

well i just got a new colony of zoas and i put them up on my frag rack to make them more comfortable since they were in higher light to begin with. i also made a frag off another colony and during the next couple days neither opened and their skin turned flaky and red? any clues? so far i have been told to blow them off and use a toothbrush.

Or even better, if possible- a pic in the morning, or shortly after light go on, and one later in the day.
