    Default Zoas receding or melting?

All parameters good. Changes include running skimmer for last 2 months. Added 225ml bag of Blue Life Clear Fx filter media to fuge intake flow area.
Not all zoas are being affected.

It is the nature of the beast. Zoas and palys will be soon fine one day and them melting the next day. Sometimes you can try to frag a polyp or 2 off and move it to a different location and hope that makes it. But most o us that keep Z&P's know this way to well! Sorry to hear about your lose!

I'm not sure what the filter media is but I would probably start by removing it.

I've been seeing a slow decline in my zoas over the last year as well. Huge colonies are now just a few polyps here and there. After some research I'm about to embark on a Vit C experiment to "C" what comes of it. May not help but I'm willing to try. I'll start a thread to document my efforts.

Thanks guys. The Blue Life is a GAC/Hybrid Phosphate Remover and an Organic Scavenger Remover all in one easy to use bag. As of today I've removed it. I tried the Pro one before but removed it because of this same issue. I though trying the less abrasive one would be better. Guess not.
Maybe my wc and skimming is plenty. I'm thinking that my water just may be *too* clean also.

Tom...I'll be looking forward to reading your progress with the vitamin C. Hopefully all goes well and I too can save my zoa's.

Sounds like your nutrients may be too low.

Do you blow off their mats every now and then? Detrius buildup can cause slow recesion also.

I think you nailed it in your earlier post: "I'm thinking that my water just may be *too* clean also." I just think they are used to water that is a little "dirtier" if you will, but more stuff to eat floating around in the tank. May want to give ' em a squirt of oyster feast or something yummy next time you feed your corals.

Hate to say it but they were all doing wonderful before I started up my skimmer. So I think I'll just ease up on the 6g bi-weekly WC. Try every 3-4 weeks maybe??

@Chris: I use a baster just about every day on my rock and do so gently around the zoos too.

I would continue the water changes and just feed more.
