    Default A couple of questions...

My cycle either has to be over, or it never happened. I had an entire cocktail shrimp decentegrate in my tank, and the ammonia levels never got over .0145 ppm. Nitrites never over .01 and Nitrates never over 5.

As of last night, the levels are as follows:

    PH: 8.0
    Nitrites: .01
    Nitrates: 2.5
    ammonia: .0145

I'm going to take my water to the LFS tomorrow to get it tested before I do anything to confirm these levels.

My 1st question is: Do you all think a water change is in order? (its been 1.5 weeks with the same water).

My 2nd question is: Do you think its safe to add a fish?

It might be wise to have a LFS double-check your test results. On my 10g I never saw a true cycle, but I had 0 ammonia before I went any further.

live water? never heard of it to be honest. I used 0 tds ro/di water. The rock I bought was ~30# of tonga kaleini. The sand was 20# agraalive sugar-fine (in the display). and 20# of agraalive (the next size up from sugar)... this is in the fuge.

The rock I bought had been curing for about 3 months according to my LFS guy (who I trust)... these guys aren't just in it to make money...

I dropped a large cocktail shrimp in on 2/9... it was entirely gone on 2/18.

What else do ya wanna know? btw... you can see my tank progress thread in the DIY forums called" "I'm All Wet!!!!"
