    Default Biocube 29 Upgrades

Ok, so I have a Nanotuners 4.36 upgrade in the mail as soon as they get the ballasts in stock. Has anybody here done this upgrade? They have really good videos for instructions but I'm looking for someone to go to if I still get lost :D

2nd, has anybody purchased a media basket for their BC29? I'm debating if I want to buy the drop in fuge and then throw in some chaeto with a fuge light on the back doing opposing photo periods, or just get the media basket and try to fit a Tunze skimmer in along side it with the modified cup... Thoughts?

I've thought about the media basket and tunze nano skimmer for mine. Would like to here more experience on the tunze nano skimmer...my gut tells me that all small skimmers are very marginal.

You'll find every biocube upgrade available there. With blueprints-pictures and all. You should see what some of those peps have done with their cubes. That's how I learned all about my 8g-where I got my banner too

That's cool too! I bought the media basket for my 8g-top tier I have filter pad-2nd 2 tiny pieces of LR and a hard ball size of chaeto light is a 3w nano led and the 3rd a 10oz bag of Chemipure. The basket makes it very easy to maintain.
In my first chamber I have a 5oz bag of Purigen and my heater. I replaced the stock pump with the Mj 606 165gph. I use a hydro flow on the out put for better flow.
    I don't us a skimmer.

Right now I have my heater and a bag of purigen in the first chamber, I'm really debating which way to go with the media basket though. I could do like you do, Miz, and put the chaeto and LR in the 2nd chamber, and that would still leave me room to put a skimmer in chamber 2... but as Jim says, I don't have alot of faith in a small skimmer but the Tunze does have some pretty good reviews. That said, if I ignore the skimmer and run without one, then maybe I'm better getting the fuge basket because it'd give me more room for LR/chaeto than the media basket will... in any event I'd have to get the fuge lighting setup...
