Sounds like the same thing Jerryc is having. Brown Jelly Desease. Read up on it and ways to save you frogspawn. Good luck.

Is that the official name? Where do I read up?
here are some pics
It's hard to really tell, I looked it up on yahoo search that way and came across a good article about it. Dave had some ideas on how to treat it if you read dieing hammer a few articles down from this post. If it is brown and jelly like then I would say that is what it is. Dave called it brown jelly infection I think. You need to get the stuff off the heads and dip the coral. If it is infecting all heads then you can't separate them if not your best survival may be to split it up. The pic looks a little on the green side. If this is just resolution then don't worry if not then it may just be algae and you can combat it with a turkey baster. Remove the coral out of the tank and into a bucket. Get a trukey baster and blast it with clean water. I find that my snails can't clean it real well because of it's sting. This may also clean anything else that is attaching it. If you can get a hold of Dave. He seems to have knowledge on the subject I've only read about it never treated for it.

I've never connected a thread so if this doesn't work don't shoot me. This is what I read. I found it informative but it doesn't go over treatment. It does show a picture however and it is on a frogspawn.

That is the green from the only living part of the spawn left. I did the blasting and I almost have nothing left in the skeleton. I am just sick![]()
gosh, I'm sorry to hear this. I love mine and don't want anything to happen. I want to rush over there and help you so bad. If there is any part of it left there is still hope though. Don't give up just yet.

In those pics,I didn't see any brown jelly on your coral.Thats no to say, that yours didn't have it.If its brown and stringy mucuus then thats something completely different.Corals regulated the zooxantellae population in there tissue by expelling it out through their "mouth".
There has been no known causative pathogen yet identified that causes Brown Jelly condition. With that, the only treatment that has worked for me,is blasting the jelly off.If you have a water dental pic, that is great as the high pressure really gets it off. Then doing Lugols dips.
