I think you should be fine. I know vinal tubing is okay to use. I don't see why silicone wouldn't be... as long as it doesn't have anything mixed in with it that will dissolve in salt water and kill your inhabitants.
I shelved out $2.60 a foot yesterday for my spa flex tubing... as you'll find on my most recent update in my Nanotime thread!
hey bud does it have any numbers on the tubing? if so we can look it up for what chemicals and compounds were made in it. 99% chance that it's fine though.

Dam Hummer where do you work. I remember when I was into my cars, that silicone was grade-A stuff for the radiator hoses.

i also hove some for the skimmer return 3/4" it much more flexable than vinal or spa tubing and stay like that too..
