Default Fragging my elepheant ear (big cup shroom)

I'm pretty sure that I can frag this the same way as regular shrooms (cutting in pie pieces) but just wanted to check here first before i perform the surgery. he started at a 2 inch diameter and is now taking up and entire side of my tank at 12+ inches so i would like to frag him. thanks in advance. you can see him on the home page here. he's the one on the right side of the tank and he's not even fully opened lol. http://www.captivereefing.com/showthread.php?t=4939

Yep frag him as normal, or just cut him off at the base and trade him at the LFS, another one will grow in it's place on the stump.
Does water always taste like salt and poo????

not sure i have the heart to just cut the whole cap. maybe just a pie piece or 2 at a time. his "stump" as you call it is 3 to 4 inches in diameter. i heard they are worth a good priceso maybe i'll see what a frag of him sells for and decide that way. or maybe trade....not sure yet.

Generally you want a piece of mouth on each frag (not necessary, but speeds growth of the frag and increases chances of survival) which would require cutting it away from the rock anyways, but most make it even with out a mouth.
