Actually I've been able to stem off the growth of coraline pretty dramtaically in our largest tank with rather high full spectrum (6500K) lighting (1200 watts of halides), compared to the growth rate when the lighting was 2/3 of what it is now it grew like crazy.
Now with in my newly established 10g tank with 70w 14000K halide, coraline began appearing within weeks, and continues to grow like crazy with similar Ca and Alk measurements.
That leaves me with the conclusion that there is something to be said about the amount and spectrum of the lighting used in relation to coraline growth.
