    Default Detroit Water and chloramines

I have had a hard time finding the correct info on this so now that Ive spoken to a person with a phd in chemical engineer and a masters in material science who was a supervisor for the Detroit water department for 20 years and now works for the army testing water supplies.

Detroit not only supplies all of wayne county but the majority of surrounding areas.
    Detroit uses chlorine.
Chlorine evaporates when left exposed to air for 12+ hours as opposed to
Chloramine that does not disipate or evaporate, nor can it be boiled out, it must be filtered out.

I contacted my local water commissioner a while back and was told the opposite.

Detroit uses chlorine not chloramine, my mistake, I was looking at the wrong water report when I posted but i made the correction. Besides that the rest of the info is correct, chloramine does not evaporate or boil out of water, which really doesnt matter since Detroit doesn't use it. And Detroit does supply water to majority of cities around here, they at least remove the dead bodies and cigarette butts. Lol

Thanks to all the people who helped me and gave me the correct info.
