A freshwtaer dip is not needed or would i consider doing one for most of your corals.Iodine dips are not needed and are stressful too.The only time a coral should be dipped is if you are trying to kill a disease/parasite that is known.
i used a freshwater dip on a frogspawn coral that was covered in flatworms.The coral handled the dip well and no more flatworms.Iodine can be effective for brown jelly infections and some other "diseases" but i'd only use it if you are CERTAIN the coral has a "disease"
