    Default Drilling a Tank

Most aquariums the bottom is tempered not the sides correct? So does that mean you can drill the sides?

In most cases yes. If it is a standard tank drill away, I'm not sure about specialty glass like starfire so I would do some more checking if that was the case.
Does water always taste like salt and poo????

Then it will be drillable. Why not get a reef ready set-up?

Pending on which size u get FM, alot of AGA tank's that are 55 and under don't have tempered glass on the bottom. I learned this after drilling mine on the side, and ordering a hotb overflow.
