    Default Hauling Livestock Home!

The wife and I are making a pilgrimage to Dallas tomorrow to look at some "real" LFS kinda like what most of ya'll have right around the corner....lol. It is about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive one way for us and we would like to be able to see maybe 4 different stores in the day since it is such a trip for us. If we spend most of the day there and start purchasing things around noon do you think everything will be ok in a cooler with a couple of ice packs wrapped in newspaper for most of a day? We are mainly gonna be coral shopping but you know some sort of freaking fish are gonna want to come home with us too! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks, Shawn
The days are long and the work is difficult but every night I sleep as a man who has achieved his goals.

Are you expecting it to be that warm where you'll need icepacks?

Just grab a cooler/styrafoam thing, throw a blanket over it and you should be good.
    atleast for corals.

fish you wanna tell them you have a drive in front of you so than can put some extra air in the bag.

I save quart size milk jugs and freeze them and wrap them in towels. I use a large cooler and don't put anything on the jugs themselves. I also recommend a thermometer in the cooler (not on the jugs), monitor that and adjust as needed. With heat packs or ice packs.....IMO....it's better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them.

The temperature in you vehicle should help control the issue of being to hot or too cold. Assuming your AC is working?

I was more worried about when I was in another store drooling...I mean shopping! If I make 4 stores and spend 1/2 hr to an hour in each one I was worried about overheating with them sitting in the vehicle from the previous stops.

Makes sense. Most stores don't mind and are familiar with us reefers cruising around carrying a cooler. Just bring it in with you!
