#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# i was hoping to get some comments on the best filter and skimmer set up for my tank. i have a 55 gallon with about 90 to 100 pounds of live rock. fish include 1 yellow tang(about 4 inches),1 perc clown, 2 damsels, 1 pajama cardinal, and 1 d. aruanus. i have one cluster of button polyps that are starting to open up and about 12 large red mushroom coral. there are 10 snailsthat stay pretty busy and im adding 10 or so hermit crabs next week.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# the filter is worthless. its a 30-60 freshwater filterand a pump running a home-made spray bar for current. i have 2 coral lifeactinic and 2 power glow 40 wattflorecent. ive been looking at a eheim canister filter and a red sea prizm pro deluxe. i know that my lightsare probably worthless also but i bought the whole setup for 300 bucks thinking that the rock would be worth that. im trying to get a good start without my wife leaving me for spending all or money. the fish are used to this poor setup, the tank is about 3 years old.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# any suggestions? there are so many filters and skimmers that its hard to narrow one down.#ed_op#IMG alt="image file name: 2ke15fb26acc.jpg" src="http://www.captivereefing.com/richedit/upload/2ke15fb26acc.jpg" border=0#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# the tank looks like crap. i had to dump everything in a hurry due to a very stressful move home.the rock is just piled in.my mushrooms are doing great. there are ten big ones and i just found about 6 babies. i want to eventually do some nice coral but i want to getsome nice equipment so as not to kill anything.i think that the tank is overloaded with fish but thats what i ended up with.im sure they will thin down1 day.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
