Saturday I brought home a new Tangaroa Goby. She's the only fish in the tank. She doesn't appear to be eating, unless she's eating at night, scavenging . I've tried frozen Mysis, brine shrimp, plankton and marine flake with garlic. She appears healthy, swimming and moving about. But I haven't *seen* her eat. How long before I really need to worry?
if he is acting normal and seems to be fine I would not concern myself. he may be scavenging when your not looking.
I would start to worry when you are seeing physical signs of malnutrition like him getting skinnier actling lethargic and just not as active.
he still may be getting used to his new home.
when you go up to the tank does he go and hide or does he act frightened or skittish??? it should be a very easy acclimation with him being the only fish in the tank.
I agree with graphixx. Don't worry unless you see signs. I had this issue with a Royal Gramma - never saw him eat for months on end - would never touch food when I put it in....but kept on "ticking".
