    Default Green water

I have a pretty good green water culture going right now for the rotifers for the H. Reidi fry that we have at work. I keep splitting the green water cultures, and I now have about 10g of nice dark green water. Anyone need any? I put 5g of greenwater in an empty IO bucket and added bbs to it. They grow fast in there, lol. I'm not culturing rotifers at home.....yet. If I ever decide to get a pair of H. Reidi's I will have to keep a few cultures of rotifers going for the fry. I'm not sure if I want to do that or not. Erectus fry are oh so much easier, lol.

So if anyone in central WI needs greenwater, let me know.

I could use some for a copepod culture that I want to start. How "green" is it? Green like DTs or just green water?

When you start culturing copepods you can send me some... lol. I bought what I thought was a 6 oz bottle of live pods found out they were dead. I would have never paid $20 for dead bugs... grrr...

Angie, do you think you would ever ship your green water? I'm not ready for it yet but this summer I want to look into clownfish breeding, so I may need some to feed rofiters (sp?)

I will take a pic of the green water and post it in the morning. I could ship it when the weather is warmer. Considering 1/2 gal would weight 4 lbs. it could be expensive to ship more then that. I won't charge anything for it, I have it so I will give it away to whoever wants it.

that's 2 different culture buckets. I had to split it again since the greenwater was getting so dark green it was almost black. I split 5 gal in half and added more sw to each bucket. I took 3 gal. to work today and added rotifers to it. In 4 days, I'm going to bring home 2 cups of the rotifer enriched water and start a rotifer culture here. I don't need them, but it's not a bad thing to have.

Angie what did you start your GW cultures from? I might have a need to do the same here in a month or two... really considering setting up and tank specific to H. zosterae. If I do then there will need to be green water and BBS cultures running 24x7 around here.

Ditto. I'm probably 1 day shipping UPS anyway since I'm down by Milwaukee. If you feel like shipping any, just let me know and I can hook you up with shipping charges or give you my UPS account #

I will start shipping it out when the next batch needs to be seperated again. I accidently dumped a jar of newly hatched BBS into one of the buckets of green water. I was taking the jar over to the green water to add some of the greenwater to the jar, not the jar to the greenwater, lol. Oops! I'm sure nobody wants greenwater that includes bbs in it. IF you do I've got about 5 gallons of it .... I bet the bbs will grow to adult in no time in there.
