You can use the "Image Resizer" on the board that will automatically resize your pictures down for you to meet the required size for the board. (The link in on the pull Nar. Bar on the left side of your screen). Max size is 600x600 pxels for uploaded images.
Avatars need to not more than 100x100 pixels and not more than 10K in size.
