    Default Meet Fritz

After six months, my 20g tank finally has its first fishy inhabitant - a Helfrichi firefish! He's only been in the tank for an hour, so he's still a bit skittish. I'll keep trying for a better pic...

Wow, congrats Tracey. I know you've had your eye on one of these guys for a long time.

The colors are awesome and I bet so much better in real life. Cool addition for sure and worth it when your working with a small tank.

Beautiful fish. I am just curious but what did you pay for him? The price tag has always scared me away from them.

Thanks, Angie and Bobby! I am really tickled to have him!
Angie, you are SO right about me wanting one of these guys for a long time. I had gone to the store yesterday to get water, and there he was. I've only seen them there 3 times in the year and a half since I found this store. I called my hubby on the way home and told him what I'd seen, and he told me to go back and buy it. I said, um - honey, he's $150! His response? "I SAID go back and get him"! Woohoo! :smt050 WHen I brought him home, hubby asked how big he was going to get. I told him that he was full grown... you should've seen his face! We paid THAT much for a tiny fish??? LOL!!!
Update: He started to explore and even had a few tentative bites of Mega Marine. The lights are out in the tank now, and he is nestled down in the front corner of the tank where the powerhead has exposed the glass. I guess he feels safe down there with the mound of sand behind him, but I thought he would have hidden out in one of the several caves... whatever makes him happy!

Thanks, Shad! It seems like my connection is slow tonight... sorry I missed your reply. I know what you mean about the price. I had figured I'd never have one of these fish just for that reason. That's why I was so surprised when my husband told me to buy him!

Very sweet fish and thats a good price for him. The ones I see are closer to $200 or over. I would have picked him up for that also, good score. I hope he is with you for many years.

How can you put a price tag on happiness? Very nice looking fish BTW... Congrats.

Thank you! I too have seen them online for much more than $150... one site was selling one for $200 or you could get a pair for $350! Ouch!

Thanks dakar! I am very happy about my new little guy, so his price tag couldn't have been too high!

I forgot to mention that with my reef club discount, I only paid $111 after tax... not too bad, huh?
