    Default New set-up, skimmer problem

OK, so I just got my new tank set up and filled with water. I started to run it and now my protein skimmer is just filling with water. The water is overflowing out of the top of the skimmer. I am sure that I have just made some stupid mistake. The problem is I dont know enough to figure out what that mistake is. Any help would be appreciated.

    What kind of skimmer?
It is our responsibilities, not ourselves, that we should take seriously.

you probly have the air flow up to high try turning it down...this should fix the problem if not consult the manual that came with the skimmer.

Most skimmers need to brake in sometimes for several weeks especially
if not washed before start up

As you just set up your tank you don't need it much till you start adding in fish

I would check the air iintake, if you have too little air coming in it will increase the waterflow and sometimes it will overflow the skimmer, you just need to tune it, and like Jerry said it will take a few weeks for it to break in and start producing skimmate

If it has a valve on the return line you could open that up a little also.
Not knowing what kind of skimmer you have makes it a lilttle difficult to solve your problem.
    Happy Reefing!
