    Default Night Life, Newbie Questions.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#It'sabout 3:30 am and I'm looking into my tank. I found a few new creatures wandering. I got one that has a bunch of arms (appear clear) and thet stretch quite the distance across the rock (guessing this is a pod as you guys told me before, not sure if that was what you were talking about). I got another worm like thing. It look like something out of the movie "tremors", real small..probably3/4 an inch with red/white coloring. It was somewhat transparent as well cause I could see the black inside from starting about a quarter of inch from the head (I guess) and it got darker towards the other side. The other creatures were real small, they were moving around like black ants except they were white and real real real small. I noticed them because there were a bunch on the glass where I put the light and they moved pretty fast for their size. Ihad my head to glass as I watched the worm thingy.I thought they were something outside the tank but when I went to remove them I couldn't, than I noticed they were in the tank. I can't get pictures of these guys because of their size but I'll probably be able to get a shot of that worm looking thing if it's still around tomorrow.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Clem#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#wow, sounds like you got some neat critters in there. The "ants" are pods. The tenticals i think are spaghettii worms (hard to tell) and the other red and white ones are bristel worms#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

the transparent critters are probably spaghetti worms and the tremor looking thngy is probably a peanut worm or a bristle worm all of these are good for the tank. and the site Jerry gave you is an awesome site. Mark (aka Melev) is a good guy and knows his business!!!!!

If I had a nickel for every hour Angel and I spent over watching our first tank cycle, sitting there watching SeaTV as we called it, all the time we spent with red flashlights and a laser pointer going oooo did you see this, assigning each critter a name........

The worst of it is we still find ourselves doing the same things, we just have more too look at now.

yeah you will see all of the nocternal critters with the moon lights. It is amazing to watch your tank at night. My tank is twice a busy at night with all of the pods and worms running about and my pistol shrimp cleaning his house and the engineer gobys out milling about. My bangai cardinal is a lot more active at night as well.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks jerryc, great info on those pages. Sadly, I found another critter a few hours ago walking around the sand, maybe two (not sure yet). I'm 90% sure they are Cirolanid Isopod as the picture depicted (I can't get any focused shots of the little guy). The unwanted guest is interesting because it burrows himself between the glass and the sand, but have any of you had first hand experience with these unwanted pests?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Clem#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
