    Default refugium set up....

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#OK, Sump is up and running.... I like it alot, a little noisy on the return pump but its tolerable. I want to start setting up the refugium now, and want to know what you guys think about setting it up. Main tank has 3" bed of live sand 150# of LR, should I go with mud, or sand ? or combo of mud bottom under sand ? What do you guys (the experts) suggest !! ?? #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Algae choices ? Livestock ? #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#J#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Keri, I would do a 3' SB with some live rock in the fuge. and if you can get your hands on some cheato I would put that in there. that is a good nutrient export

I prefer a LR rubble fuge for a tank that has a DSB in the display. As stated, chaeto macroalgae is probably the best choice for a macro to grow in the fuge.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#what do you guys thing of a mud base with LR rubble on top ? overkill ? or good idea... What about ordering stuff online... none of the LFS have chaeto/macro available OTC. It all has to be ordered. If it works well, Ill just order it online.. Never ordered live stuff before over the net.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

I would just stick with the LR rubble. that should be fine. as far as cheato, I am sure someone here has some they can send you. I just cut mine back or I could of if you dont find some in like a month let me know i'll send yousome
