    Default lighting for a 55g tank

    what kind of lighting do you guys think would be best for my 55g tank...im starting with a FO tank then eventually plan on adding corals..i just dont wanna buy a light thats good for fish but turns out to be not so good for corals so id have to buy another lihting fixture...im thinking ahead

    You could start with the T5 retro kits if you are building your own canopy. Start out with a two bulb kit (about $120.00), which would be fine for your fish only set up. When you want to move to corals, add another two bulb kit and you should be in good shape for most corals.

    I agree- If your building your own canopy- a retro kit it the way to go.

    You can start w/ 2 bulbs and add bulbs as ya go with retro kits! If you decide to go mh, you can always add them too, along with the t5 retro also.
