OK i need a good ro/di unit for fairly cheap if possible. The other thing is, I don't want to have to keep ordering parts for it or anything like that....I will pay more for a low maintenance rodi than a high maintenance

This is more like the unit Jerry was mentioning... updated model than the one many of us are using now... (this one has two DI chambers) 6 stage unit for cheap!

If you don't have one get a TDS meter to go with it.
you can use it to keep up with the performance of your filter
i got one off of eBay for 18.00 including shipping

What exactly does a TDS meter do and why do I need one?

A TDS meter lets you no whit the total dissolved solids are in your water
and will let you no whine your filters need changing.
the TDS needs to be under 3 at least in my opinion
better to be at 0
