Ok tomorrow morning I am leaving here for my HD/Lowes/Hardware store.
I am going to be setting up a move from a 55G to a 125G
Here is my plan
I have a 5G Containt of Salt (200G of Water)
I am wanting to find 2 large Rubbermaid container 45G or great.
I plan to start mixing salt water up and putting it into the Rubbermaid tank
I then plan on putting 1 of my new powerheads in the tank to for water flow and a heater to bring the water temp up.
The second container I will drain off my 55G into it, put another powerhead and heater in that one.
Take down my 55G, put the 125 in it's place, plumb it up, let it dry.
While it dries I plan on putting the new sand/lr into the tank. The sand is not "new" it was in the 125 and used for a year so it has been cycled.
After I get the majority of the LR into the tank and sand, and the pvc glue is dried, I plan on pumping the new salt water back into the tank, then the water from the 55, putting all the heaters in the water to make sure the temp stays constant and letting it run to ensure no leaks.
After that being putting the corals and fish I put into the 30G into the tank again.
Does this seem pretty straight forward? Am I missing anything here? What kind of surprises should I be prepaired for?
Any suggestions on what I should pick up? What size PVC should I use, what is the best way to plumb it? Anyone know of where the best place to go is for a 1 stop shop
It is a standard 125. I will be using a hangon overflow. For now it will be an open top tank.
One would assume it should be like setting up a 55G Standard tank, but I know there will be new things I need to do while setting up the tank to avoid issues down the road.
