Just set up my scape in the 210 and it's roughly 16" high at the highest point on a 30" high tank. Is this high enough? It's roughly 75lbs of BRS Pukani as well, should I add more!? Any other suggestions/insights/critiques are ABSOLUTELY welcomed!
Also, just a point of interest.....I have an ATI 8x80W Sunpower fixture that I mounted underneath the canopy, but it's only about 6" off the water, so does that work in my favor now having the lower scape?
If you like how it looks and it will provide enough light for the corals/photosynthetic species you're planning to keep... then that is all that really matters.
Personally, I like the look of a lower profile scape, and yours looks great. There's lots of open space for fish to swim and corals to grow into. The only suggestion I have is to reduce the sharp angles and flat tops. If you could get more curves and less angles I think it would look more natural.
Sounds like a great system you're setting up. Be sure to get start a thread to document your progress in the Member's Reefs area.
@Tom
.....yea, I wanted plenty room to grow some great LPS out and for a variety of fish to move around. And I've been taking pics of my process, and will get an actual build thread up soon!
@chort55
....yea, I've heard that from some other people about the fans, but it was the best T5 I could find for a tank that depth. I did add some 120mm gaming PC fans on both sides of the canopy to move air around and hear out...
And I hadn't gotten into SPS at all yet, but I plan on growing some pretty amazing ultra LPS!!! LEDs will be my next setup though......after a while! Lol.
Covered those fans up wit some AC return vents that I painted black with some Krylon......gotta find which ebony stain the builder used to cover those scratches I made.....
