    Default UPgrading

Upon moving into the new house, I will be upgrading my current tank.
    Its a 55gallon with ~ 10gal sump w/ skimmer

will be getting a 75gal, build a larger sump and use current gear, maybe add some more water flow.

My concerns are water and sand issues. I will need to get more of each, so whats the best way to go about it? I have lots of mushroom and softies and dont want to stress them out to0 bad.

Any ideas would be helpful, thankyou.

Ok, to clarify about my concerns and voice a couple ideas.

Water~instead of adding like 30 gallons of freshwater to my tank when i upgrade(is this a bad or a good thing for an established tank? (have RO/DI filter) can I siphon off some water until we move, in about 2 months, to have enough water to fill the new tank/sump? does water "keep" for 2 months?

Sand/substrate~should I buy a couple bags of the pre-seeded sand i see in the LFS's or just add new fresh sand? I will have to scoop up the old sand, so will that mess up the layers of bacteria a lot? Whats the best way to go about transferring substrate to a new larger tank?

Finally have a decent tank setup goin with some really cool bio-load(imo annyways) and would hate to hurt it.

i would take ALL of your water in the 55 to the new house with you and just add new SW to the tank once it is set up (kinda like a water change). carefully move the sand (you will probably get a small cycle) to the new tank (i used a NEW dustpan). i believe that you will want to add the new sand to the BPTTOM of the tank, and put the old on top of that (i could be wrong, but i think that is the right order).
if you need to ... go to your LFS and see if they will give you a few of the styrofoam boxes that thier stuff is shipped to them in. these are great for transporting the corals and fish during a move.
