My skimmer stinks, thats in my sump.

I have seen a few stinky sumps. I have found over harvesting Cheato, and not letting it get too thick, helps keep the smell down.

    Do you vacuum it, periodically?

Haven't vacuumed it yet. Waiting on getting the right tool. I do keep my skimmer cup clean. I've got very slow growing chaeto, it's the very dark green thick wirey kind

You can put some carbon in a panty hose and hang it in your cabinet. Should knock the smell down.works for us

I run carbon 24/7. Sumps can get smelly if lots of detritus build up. But carbon should help a lot.
