Caulplea is turning white

    Default Caulplea is turning white

    In my refugium my caulplea is turning white and dying. ph 8.3 A/N/N at zero. Any ideas :WHY:

    There are two things that I have experienced which will cause Caulerpa to go asexual (turn white and dissolve). One is too high of temp (+84) or to dense of growth. Caulerpa needs to be trimmed in a refuge pretty regularly. I always tried to keep it so that the light penetrated all the way to the substrate. I would recommend swapping out to Chaetomorpha for the macro in your fuge. Less troublesome then Caulerpa IMO.
