    Default leaky bulkhead!

Ok, I just installed my new hang on refugium on the nano. Everything is working good except for the return bulkhead leaks like mad! All it is, is a hole in the acrylic with a PVC bulkhead that goes through it and the back half of the bulk head screws onto the front half, with the acrylic pinched inbetween. What is the best way to seal this spot? Goop, aquarium silicone? Help me out. Once I glue it into place I suppose it's there permanently too. Thanks, DIRT

I hope Goop was the answer...I just laid a bead around the bulkhead and screwed it in tight. I don't see why that wouldn't seal it. I will let you know in about 20 min. when it dries. -DIRT

There should be a gasket between the flange and the tank with the nut on the outside. Is that how you have it set up?

I've heard that you don't want to use glue or silicone on bulkheads because it will fail eventually. The gasket should be all you need.

no gasket. I already gooped it. I will keep an eye on it. The cool thing about goop is that with a little muscle you can get it off again.
