you left an animal in a bag to acclimate in your tank. I once had a bangaii acclimate in my sump over night that I totally forgot about . I felt so bad but he still is alive and had him over 8 months now.

Way to go Pete, geesh. What kinda husbandry are you practicing over there?
LOL, worst thing I've done is leave a nudi infected monti in a Revive dip over night. Nudis died, monti lived!!

Last night I was moving a few pieces around and took a red planet frag down to the basement grow out about 7:00. About midnight little after I rocket out of bed remembering that I never actually put it in the tank. I ran down stars and tossed it in the tank.
Today I get home from work and its perfectly fine after sitting out in the air for well over 5 hours. Few.

2 days, for a starfish. Monitored the entire time, longest period without checking on him was 4 hours, in the middle of my sleeping. Lived 3 years in my tank before I sold him, never had any part of him disintegrate.

The closest Ive come to extended exposure to non-aquarium habbitat was I accidentally left a tricolor acro in a coralRX dip for 5 or so hours... it was pretty bleached when I got home and realized what I had done but the polyps were still happy and the coral overall survived.

well a few months ago i switched tank stands. broke a piece of birdsnest off and just set it on my bucket lid because i was super busy trying to get stuff done. i was going to glue it to a plug and be done with it. completely forgot about it and it sat out in the air for about 6 hours. put it back in the tank and there has not been one ill effect from it.

It's amazing how resilient these corals can be and on the other hand how fragile too.
