Whats the deal with cycling with liverock?

    Default Whats the deal with cycling with liverock?

    I have heard both, do you cycle your tank with all the liverock in it or do you cycle it with a small piece then recycle it with another peice and so on.

    i cycled my tanks with the LR in them. this way you know that the rock is cured AND you tank is cycled.
    i also have a LR curing tank, so i can always add LR that has been cured. if you use cured LR you will have minimal die off from the trasportation of the rocks to the tank. die off happens when you take the LR out of saltwater, small micro organisims die on the rock and this causes higher than normal amonnia levels.
