    Default what's with my water??

I'm putting this here cause its a question I need to know right away!! My new make up water for a water change is testing pretty freaking strange.
My API test kit is a little over a year old-stated to last 2yrs
Cal=460 Kh=196.9 what the heck? I'm using the same slat, same bucket, same pump. It's been in the bucket for 3 days.
I've never had this issue before. I'm wondering, can a pump cause this? If it's an older pump? Is there a specific pump for SW only, or can all pumps be used for SW?
I need to know before I dump out this water and or take a sample to the LFS.

Most pumps can be used in SW, some cannot. What kind is it?

Did you run the test again as we mentioned earlier?

Before you dump it I would have the Alk level double checked.
