    Well what are your calcium and alkalinity levels???
    This would be a good place to start.
    Does water always taste like salt and poo????

    That would be a good thing. Coraline would also grow faster with stronger light. What light are you running.

    its a formosa-ss (pl-jd2-28 the gf got it ...its a single strip double fan system.....the website www.jbjlighting.com... dont know if is good

    Which size light and what size tank?? Cal and Alk play more of a role than light but light does help. coraline will grow in a tank with NO lighting but at a slower rate.
    Does water always taste like salt and poo????

    What are you keeping in the tank?? If it is a fish only system you are fine if you want to keep corals I would suggest a better light. you are at aprox. 1.19 Watts per gal, that is not much especially for PC lighting.
