I'm following GARF.org's instructions for a "bullet proof reef" if you go to their website you can see what it entails. The system calls for the plenum to be run as an undergravel filter for several weeks before disconnecting the tube and letting it just be a deep sand bed/plenum.
The only water ever to go in the tank has been RO/DI water, just with the supplements added per the above post.
All of your suggestions were really great and i apprecieate it so much, but they don't tell me what to do about the pH right now to keep my animals alive.
If my pH is to high will a buffer bring the pH down?
What should i do right now to stabilize things and keep my animals alive???
